Public Defender - What People Think I Do

  1. Hilarious and true! Keep up the good work. I used to be a PD and I know how you feel.

  2. While funny, it stings a bit too. Under-appreciated, vilified and misunderstood - the life of a PD.

  6. Excellent representation of the different perspectives, according to the different interests and how they contribute to stereotyping. A graphic like this could be made for every one mentioned in this one.

It's given me an idea ... (sort of like a circular flow-chart I saw recently that was made into a joke about eating bacon. All answers - whether you chose not eating bacon at the beginnig - led back to eating bacon, nevertheless).

This is quite poignant... Thanks for sharing it.

(Obviously I'm stalking your blogs to get a better idea of who you are and how you think. ;) Not to be creepy, but because finding attorneys in Nebraska who are still in touch with their humanity (in life and at work) seems to be a tough endeavor, and I'm in the business of caring about that for the many clients for whom I advocate - people caught unnecessarily in the devastation that operates within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

If you have never visited this group from Chicago, please consider doing it: familydefensecenter.com

We are trying to get a handful of attorneys in Omaha/Lincoln together who can work with the Family Defense Center and other national attorneys to form an effective network of family representation here in Nebraska - similar to what they have accomplished in Chicago.

When you have some time, email me, so we can visit about this idea and the resources available to move it forward: melanie@familyadvocacymovement.com

Perhaps Amy Williams can help facilitate this initial gathering for a task force or the development of an advisory committee. Let me know your thoughts...

    Thank you...
