A bit too late for me, alas, but now Dave and others like him might be able to join our ranks:
This is great news for all of those interested in becoming public defenders, who are forced to spend tens of thousands on law school in order to make very little money thereafter...

I dont know what this means yet in dollars and cents but I know this could sure help me out.
I think that celebration may be premature. When I looked into this last year, the bill provided an amount of funding that was pitiful. So when you divide the amount of funding by persons eligible to recieve it its like 50 cents. Also, I am not sure, but I think the DOJ will administer this program, so it may favor prosecutors.
