At a prosecutor's office I work with there was a power struggle and the losing side was headed by a woman. When she left the office, and threatened a lawsuit, they promised her that the DA's considerable political prowess would be thrown behind her to get her appointed to the next judicial position. She's now a judge.
My sister was on this jury and she said the case was lost for the prosecutor's office when they put Mr. Holm on the stand. He was his own worst enemy.
