Updates from OH for WA p.d.'s

Sentencing Law and Policy provides commentary on yesterday's "big Blakely doings" here in Washington State, and gives a follow-up. Hughes, and to an informative article from the TNT about a most unusual sentencing hearing stopped in mid-course yesterday by the state Supreme Court ruling.

Update: Governor Gregoire has signed SSB 5477, the "Blakely fix" bill, relating to exceptional sentences outside the standard range. The act includes an emergency clause, and takes effect immediately. It's online here.
