"When kids get life"

An unsolicited unpaid advertisement: (Clicking on the picture will link to the show's PBS Frontline website. Coincidentally, on Monday I'm starting a trial where my 15-year-old client faces "juvy life": JRA incarceration until his 21st birthday.)

I am a conservative Republican whose mind has just been changed by seeing that PBS special.

I was horrified. Power corrupts and Colorado is a scarry place in my mind. Immoderate, unjust and horrific - those are my thoughts of the kids who will serve life in prison.

The poor victims family - yes, but my goodness Colorado leaders need some balance... The US Gov't won't let a boy go to Iraq because of an a lack of devolopment - so should they not be treated as an adult - they are children.

It made me want to cry.

I am just shocked about it.
I mean when you see how these kids grow up. They have had a terrible childhood.

In one way it is a ''normal reaction'' of them, these kids haven't got a chance. The judges don't know, or don't want to know, what these children went through.

These juveniles have their whole life to live, they should get a second chance.

You can't say that this is justice.
If you see the film, you know that they are very sorry about it. It was an accident. The gouvernment is not right to put juveniles in jale or even supermax.

I mean, come on, that's not fair.
It is a really sad story and I was even about to cry. I can't understand that gouvernment. I feel even sorry for that kids...
